15th Anniversary Project

15 years ago, Hungry For A Day was launched!
As we begin a year of celebrating, it reminds me of our very first project.
We helped Second Chance Foodbank in Canton, Georgia repair their commercial freezer.

Four our first project of 2026, we're returning to where it all began.

Lakepointe Food Pantry in the Detroit area was a project some of you helped with ten years ago. Those donations were used to convert an unused room in some office space to a food pantry.

They are growing rapidly, have moved into their own space and now serve hundreds of families every month. They have also been a valued Thanksgiving partner for the past 11 years, helping to feed tens of thousands during the holidays.

Their current commercial refrigerator and freezer can no longer handle the volume of fresh food they're distributing. They need new commercial-grade units. The total cost is $12,000.

Your support will help ensure fresh produce, dairy, and proteins stay available for neighbors facing hunger.

How can you live generously?

Suggested giving levels:

$6,000 – Covers the full cost of a new refrigerator or freezer
$1,000 – A game-changing gift
$250 – A strong step forward
$100 – Helps cover refrigeration needs
$50 – A meaningful start

Any funds received beyond $12,000 will go to meet additional needs they have around shelving, ladders, and lighting to make their space even more effective.

This full-circle project honors our roots and fuels continued impact in the Detroit community.

Thank you for partnering with us. Together we're building stronger communities, one generous act at a time.
